Description
Deliciously crispy chicken wings topped with savory whiskey onions and extra cheese. Perfect for game day or any gathering!
Ingredients
1 lb chicken wings
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup whiskey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt to taste
Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix the chicken wings with garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, and salt.
2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and add sliced onions. Sauté until caramelized.
3. Add whiskey, soy sauce, and brown sugar to the onions. Cook until the sauce thickens.
4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
5. Place the seasoned wings on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
6. Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and top with the whiskey onion mixture and shredded cheddar cheese.
7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the level of sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar. Serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping!
