Description

These Smoky Maple Bourbon BBQ Ribs are the perfect combination of sweet and smoky, finished with a tangy slaw for a delightful crunch.

Ingredients

Scale

3 lbs pork ribs

1 cup maple syrup

1/2 cup bourbon

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

2 tbsp smoked paprika

2 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

4 cups green cabbage, shredded

1 cup carrots, shredded

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (for slaw)

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.

2. In a bowl, mix maple syrup, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Brush the mixture generously over the ribs.

4. Wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and place them on the grill.

5. Cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, turning occasionally.

6. While the ribs are cooking, prepare the slaw by combining cabbage, carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

7. Toss until the cabbage and carrots are evenly coated.

8. Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the grill and unwrap the foil.

9. Brush additional BBQ sauce on the ribs and grill them directly for another 10-15 minutes to caramelize the sauce.

10. Serve the ribs hot with a side of tangy slaw.

Notes

For extra smoky flavor, add wood chips to your grill.

You can use any type of pork ribs, but baby back ribs are recommended for tenderness.

Adjust the sweetness of the BBQ sauce by adding more or less maple syrup as desired.
