These Smoky Maple BBQ Chicken Sliders are a delightful combination of tender chicken smothered in a rich, smoky maple BBQ sauce, topped with crunchy coleslaw, all served on soft slider buns. Perfect for a summer BBQ or game day!
Ingredients
For the Chicken Sliders:
– 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
– 1 cup smoky BBQ sauce
– 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
– 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 12 slider buns
For the Coleslaw:
– 4 cups shredded green cabbage
– 1 cup shredded carrots
– 1/2 cup mayonnaise
– 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. 1. In a slow cooker, combine chicken thighs, BBQ sauce, maple syrup, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
2. 2. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until chicken is tender and easily shredded.
3. 3. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and mix well with the sauce.
4. 4. In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
5. 5. To assemble the sliders, place a generous portion of the chicken mixture on the bottom half of each slider bun.
6. 6. Top with a spoonful of coleslaw and place the top half of the bun on.
7. 7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
You can prepare the chicken ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator. Reheat before serving. The coleslaw can also be made ahead of time; just dress it right before serving for best texture.
