Ingredients
8 large jalapeños
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh chives for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Cut each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
4. Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, filling generously.
5. Place the stuffed jalapeños on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the jalapeños are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
8. Garnish with fresh chives before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the cheese mixture.
These poppers can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
Adjust the level of heat by leaving some seeds in the jalapeños.
