This Savory Caramel Apple Tart combines the sweetness of caramel with the tartness of apples, all encased in a flaky pastry for a delightful dessert experience.
Ingredients
– 1 sheet of puff pastry
– 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter
– 1/4 cup heavy cream
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 tsp cinnamon
– Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. 2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and fit it into a tart pan.
3. 3. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and cook until it dissolves and turns golden brown.
4. 4. Add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt to the caramel, stirring constantly.
5. 5. Arrange the sliced apples on the pastry and pour the caramel sauce over them.
6. 6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the pastry is golden brown.
7. 7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
