Ingredients
– 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
– 4 slices of cooked bacon, chopped
– 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
– 1/4 cup maple syrup
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon
– 1/2 tsp nutmeg
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 1/4 tsp pepper
– 4 slices cheddar cheese
– 4 burger buns
– Lettuce and tomato for topping
Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, chopped bacon, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
2. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat.
4. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
5. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
6. Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1 minute.
7. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, and the pumpkin maple bacon patty on the bun.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a dollop of spicy mayo or sriracha. This burger pairs well with a side of sweet potato fries.
