Description
A comforting skillet bake featuring crispy egg rolls filled with sweet maple onions, topped with a rich bourbon drizzle.
Ingredients
8 egg roll wrappers
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 cup thinly sliced onions
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup bourbon (for drizzle)
2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until caramelized.
3. Stir in shredded cabbage and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
4. Add maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
5. Place a spoonful of the filling onto each egg roll wrapper and roll them up tightly.
6. Arrange the egg rolls seam-side down in a greased baking dish.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
8. While the egg rolls are baking, prepare the bourbon drizzle by melting butter in a saucepan and adding bourbon. Simmer for 5 minutes.
9. Drizzle the bourbon sauce over the baked egg rolls and serve warm.
Notes
Feel free to customize the filling by adding cooked chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
