Description

These Maple Bourbon Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Candied Pecans are a deliciously sweet and savory side dish perfect for your holiday feasts.

Ingredients

Scale

1 ½ pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup bourbon

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup pecans, chopped

2 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. In a large bowl, combine the Brussels sprouts, maple syrup, bourbon, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.

3. Spread the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer.

4. Roast for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are tender and caramelized.

5. While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, prepare the candied pecans. In a small skillet over medium heat, combine the pecans and brown sugar. Stir constantly until the sugar has melted and the pecans are coated, about 3-5 minutes.

6. Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven and sprinkle the candied pecans on top. Serve warm.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the Brussels sprouts mixture before roasting.
