These Deep-Fried Butter Garlic Knot Egg Rolls are a delicious fusion of flavors, combining buttery garlic knots with the crispy texture of egg rolls. Perfect for parties or a quick snack!
Ingredients
8 garlic knots, thawed
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
1. 1. In a large bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
2. 2. Take each garlic knot and flatten it slightly with your hands.
3. 3. Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each flattened knot.
4. 4. Roll the garlic knot around the filling to form an egg roll shape, sealing the edges with a bit of water.
5. 5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
6. 6. Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
7. 7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
These egg rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before frying. Just fry them straight from the freezer for a few extra minutes. Experiment with different fillings like spinach or other cheeses for variety!
