Description

These Crispy Parmesan Herb Pretzel Bites are the perfect appetizer for any party. Soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, they are deliciously cheesy and herby with a zesty dipping sauce that will keep your guests coming back for more!


Ingredients

• 1 cup warm water (110°F)

• 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

• 1 tbsp sugar

• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 tsp salt

• 1/4 cup baking soda

• 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

• 1 tbsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

• 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

• Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)

Zesty Dip:

• 1/2 cup sour cream

• 1/4 cup mayonnaise

• 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

• 1 tsp lemon juice

• Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

1. 1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

2. 2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms, about 5 minutes.

3. 3. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.

4. 4. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

5. 5. Once the dough has risen, divide it into small pieces and roll them into bite-sized balls.

6. 6. In a pot, bring 4 cups of water and baking soda to a boil. Boil each pretzel bite for 30 seconds, then remove and place on the baking sheet.

7. 7. Brush the tops with the beaten egg, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, Italian herbs, and coarse sea salt.

8. 8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
