These Crispy Garlic Parmesan Pretzel Bites are perfect for snacking or as an appetizer. They are easy to make and deliciously addictive!
Ingredients
• 1 cup warm water (110°F to 115°F)
• 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
• 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 cup baking soda
• 1 egg, beaten
• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 2 tablespoons garlic powder
• 1 tablespoon melted butter
• Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
• Marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
1. 1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
2. 2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, and stir until a dough forms.
3. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
4. 4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5. 5. In a small pot, bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil.
6. 6. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each into a ball.
7. 7. Boil each dough ball in the baking soda water for 30 seconds, then remove and place on the baking sheet.
8. 8. Brush each pretzel bite with beaten egg, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and coarse salt.
9. 9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
10. 10. Brush with melted butter and serve warm with marinara sauce.
Notes
• For extra flavor, try adding Italian seasoning to the dough.
• These pretzel bites are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
