Description

A hearty and comforting casserole combining macaroni and cheese with spicy chili. Perfect for a family dinner!


Ingredients

8 oz elbow macaroni

1 lb ground beef

1 can (15 oz) chili beans

1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup milk


Instructions

2. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

3. 2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.

4. 3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is soft.

5. 4. Stir in the chili beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.

6. 5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, the chili mixture, milk, and half of the cheddar cheese.

7. 6. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish. Top with the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

8. 7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

You can add extra toppings like jalapeños or sour cream for added flavor.

This recipe can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
