Description
A deliciously savory burger featuring a juicy beef patty stuffed with cheddar cheese, topped with crispy maple bacon and sweet caramelized onions.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
4 slices of cheddar cheese
4 slices of maple bacon
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 burger buns
Lettuce and tomato, for serving
Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the maple bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, add olive oil and the sliced onion. Cook the onions on low heat, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes until caramelized.
3. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then divide into 8 equal portions. Flatten each portion and place a slice of cheddar cheese in the center, then fold the beef around the cheese to form a patty.
4. Grill the patties over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes on each side, until cooked to your liking.
5. Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden.
6. Assemble the burgers: place the patty on the bottom bun, top with caramelized onions, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Close with the top bun and serve.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding your favorite burger sauce. You can also substitute the cheddar cheese with your preferred variety.
