Ingredients
1 loaf of thick bread (such as challah or brioche)
4 large eggs
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cups diced apples (peeled and cored)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
